Over coffee with a liquidator this week we were confronted with a serious change in policy with respect of garnishee notices and the approach of the ATO.
Since the start of the financial year there has been a concerted approach by the Commissioner to reduce revenue leakage and this has meant that there is an escalation of collections activities.
It is our understanding that the number of notices has increased 19,000 for the financial year to date, a marked increase on the total number of notices for the previous year.
If you are looking for assistance in dealing with a garnishee notice or attempting to understand what they mean, give us a call on 1300 023 782 or email team@cdrta.com.au.
The team at C&D Restructure and Taxation Advisory are here to help. As part of the Vault Group we can offer the full suite of financial products and advice to help you navigate the business landscape. Schedule a meeting here via Calendly or give us a call on 1300 1 VAULT (1300 182 858)
